We've never met, but I just wanted to let you know that I am about to graduate from highschool, and this was a true inspiration to me! =) Everyone has been asking me for two years now what I am going to do after I graduate, and I always have the same answer- "I don't know."

God has been showing me that His plans are not ever "normal" or "conventional," and while that's very exciting, it doesn't ever seem practical. Still, I'm sure that it will be well worth the wait as His plans for our lives unfold.

Keep resting in His arms! Love you girl!Kimberlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11167420532952113119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1591716991354386792.post-73488761568855099212009-12-11T11:35:31.371-08:002009-12-11T11:35:31.371-08:00Oh my goodness, Elisa, that was truly filled with ...Oh my goodness, Elisa, that was truly filled with the Spirit of God! That so moved me and encouraged me.

I went through very similar things! Time and time again, God called me to just trust that He would guide me. He spoke to me with this verse when I was in my 'waiting period',"Your ears will hear a word behind you, 'This is the way, walk in it,' whenever you turn to the right or to the left." Isaiah 30:21

After I graduated, I went to a year of community college. I knew God had called me to missions, but there just wasn't any open door. I had a full scholarship, so I decided just to do that until I got further notice from God. He called me to follow Him blindly. I had a vision of what He had called me to do, but seemingly no way to get there.

During this time of waiting, God has taught me SO much about Himself, about His heart, about service, about humility.

A missionary in Haiti (whom I will be serving with someday soon!) wrote, "Despise not small beginnings. I spent years serving my pastors, teaching Sunday school, working in the nursery, sweeping floors, cleaning toilets, and wondering what any of this had to do with the desires of my heart. The Lord has taught me that long before you are entrusted He requires that you prove your trust. He tests us to see if we will be faithful in little things and will keep us on the potter’s wheel until we are emptied out of our pride."

That is exactly what God has been doing in me and continues to do in me. Though God has revealed more clearly the path He has laid out for me, I STILL have to wait! It's still months away before I even get to start the beginnings of the door He has opened for me. But when it came time to decide if I was to take this open door, the Lord gave me this verse, "'You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Turn and set your journey' " Deuteronomy 1:6b-7a

It's so amazing to see how God faithfully directs each of our steps! Oh, how I love how He is personally and intimately involved in each of our lives! We can trust that each season as we are following Him serves a purpose :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1591716991354386792.post-56596555920950098052009-12-11T06:59:10.750-08:002009-12-11T06:59:10.750-08:00Thank you thank you thank you for this good LONG p...Thank you thank you thank you for this good LONG post. :) I truly enjoyed it. Humorous.
I can attest to what you say is true - all of it. I have watched in amazement as the Lord has continually brought you to Himself. But I knew He had drawn you close to Himself when as a 3 or 4 year old, you stopped in the middle of all the Christmas morning confusion, held your doll close to your heart and thanked God.
It's been quite a ride. We have all loved you so much, all the way.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17620534300952286611noreply@blogger.com
